Since the formula shortage began last month, Northwest Mothers Milk Bank in Tigard has seen a three-fold increase in donors interested in giving their extra breast milk to babies in need.

The nonprofit serves at-risk infants, mostly by supplying milk to neonatal intensive care units in about 75 hospitals across four states. It’s on track to screen more than a thousand milk donors in 2022.
